[parted-devel] distcheck failure due to pot files

I get this error doing a make distcheck:

It looks like the problem is that doc/C/po does not exist in the dist
tarball, nor is it being built.  I'm not sure why though.  Also I
thought these files were always supposed to be auto generated and not
be present in the git repo.  doc/C/po/partprobe.8.pot is however
present in the git repo, even though parted.8.pot apparently was
removed some time ago.
