Thanks for your explanation.  Given my lack of familiarity with parted
and partman, I think I'll have to pass.

I'm surprised these bug reports are so old.  Obviously this is not a
new issue, but I'm pretty sure that it occurs much more often now than
it did in the past.  I cannot remember running into the warning too
often with lenny, but it shows up really quite often with current
daily images.
