I'd love if you could do that and also fix install_package_files on the way - 
though maybe thats more complicated as it (maybe, needs checking) installs 
(or also needs to install) the piuparts-depends-dummy.dpkg with dpkg.

last days and now needs to do some other stuff first again :) "But" 588041 is 
definitly something I consider very worthy to fix, I think it might cause 
#603453...
