even if it only fixes half of the full problem (from a piuarts.d.o POV), it is 
a considerable improvement for piuparts itself, as it causes piparts to fail 
on a certain kind of failure on which it didnt fail before. So I don't see a 
reason not to merge this code.

Julien, do you have your patch in git format?
