Something I forgot to include in my original bug report is that I am not 
seeing the shutdown errors reported in bug report 240267, only that I get 
the unresolved symbols when doing a depmod.

In addition, the mixer settings are not being saved on restart, in fact they 
are not even saved if I log out and log back in.

this is my first bug report!
