Hi,
I have an ali M5451 sound chip and if I change volume using alsa mixer
it changes abruptly, in fact up to 50% of maximum volume I can't
hear any sound and above that level volume changes too abruptly.
In windows XP volume varies more gently...

I am closing bug reports against alsa-source that are more than one year
old and that relate to upstream aspects of the package. The reports are
too old to be of any use now.
