Hello.

If it's helpful to know, I had a problem very similar to this, which
seems to have disappeared on upgrading to the 2.6.11 kernel.=20
(Specifically by installing kernel-image-2.6.11-9-amd64-k8.) I was
previously running an amd64 build of 2.6.10 in a 32-bit userspace, as
was the original reporter.

I don't have totem installed, but I was having what seem to have been
almost identical problems with xmms. As soon as there was any attempt
at audio output, either X11 or the kernel would crash.

Installing the suggested experimental packages didn't fix anything
under 2.6.10, but they've remained installed since I upgraded to
kernel 2.6.11 and it's now working.

Mike.
