1. Don't use alsaconfig to configure your soundcard. Let udev do the
job.
2. vmlinuz-2.6.22-3-vserver-686 -> Is this a Debian kernel? Anyway,
if it is a missing driver file the bug against the kernel
package.
3. Just do 'rm /var/lib/alsa/asound.state', reboot and check sound.
