Didn't give any results :-(

I've tried that, didn't give any result at all. I've tried a clean install
with testing also without a result. I tried the ubuntu 9.10 live CD, which
didn't give a result either, but changing the Hardware Device in the sound
settings from Analog Stereo into Analog Surround sound is working under
Gnome, but only on Line in (4.x, 5.x), Mic In (4.1, 5.x) and Rear Surround
(4.x 5.x) sockets!! Using aplay seems to use the same settings as
gnome-volume-control, but I couldn't find a config file where the settings
are stored. Do you have an idea where to find the settings in Ubuntu so I
can can compare them with a clent lenny install?

Merry Christmas,
Henk
