Still I dont' understand. Is dh_installmenus generating scripts that
lintian doesn't like? I'm just trying to make sure we don't duplicate
anything because there's some error in debian/rules somewhere. I
can't see anything strange though.

Yeah, but also:

alsa-driver (1.0.15-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Removed udev from linux-sound-base Depends: (closes: #446953)

I'm not challenging the change, and in favour of keeping it, actually
but it made me wonder. Forget about this one.

Yes, I've tried to bring Ubuntu people here to have them actively
develop their stuff in our tree, so we basically have mostly the
same packages, but it has never happened. Their patch has changes
to asoundconf we have never heard about.

Unless anyone wants to take care of asoundconf in Debian, I might
just accept that we can't maintain it and leave your change as it is,
but bugs aside, which can be fixed and might actually be fixed already
in their tree, I guess asoundconf can be useful for some people, or
else it wouldn't have been written.

Right. If cards not present in non Ubuntu arches are not being handled
by asoundconf, we could just install it, if it gets maintained, in
the packages for certain architectures, although I guess the AOA
bug might be easily fixable by them.

If Debian doesn't use it at all (can anyone on the list comment on
this? I certainly don't use it, but if it's useful, I'd try to keep
it IFF someone takes care of keeping it in a working state.

Well, I don't understand this last paragraph. If packages wait for weeks
is because I'm totally buried under work and personal matters and at
times can't do much better. However, I do suffer when I know I asked for
an update and then I'm not able to look at it, because I know it's not
fair to you. However, I haven't called you a slave, and honestly didn't
like that comment very much. I also do this on my very scarce free time,
and try to do my best reviewing your very welcome changes and work, but
asking three questions about a few things that I think that might be good
to discuss shouldn't be an offence.

If you're in doubt, I appreciate your work a lot and know you are also
tight on time to take care of it. Whenever you stop doing it, it'll
probably mean the end of the current packaging team and someone else
will have to pick up the packages, as I can't do more than I do already,
which is little, and wouldn't be able to maintain this without your
help.

In any case, I'll try to upload the packages today and tomorrow.

alsa-plugins might be embargoed by the release team as it might affect the
ffmpeg transition.
