I'm resending this post to this forum.  Hopefully this is the right
forum for my questions?

I'm trying to compile and run alsa-lib-1.0.14sa/test/*.c because I
want to write some simple code similar to pcm.c

I think I'm getting closer.
I believe I've found the right version of the alsa-lib for the n810 (
finally :-| ).
However I am still getting the ioctl error instead of sound.  :-(
