Thanks, I'll build moc myself after I fix my audio problems, and give it a try.

The output of what? Also just to make sure I was clear: sound works all the
time, just that when the error occurs, sound hiccups and I get the long row

of errors and an unresponsive TTY7

For some weird reason I can't even start alsamixer. I know very well it worked
after getting rid of pulse.
