No, I did not change /etc/modprobe.d. Is it possible that card 1 is the USB 
webcam which is not listed on the playback devices? I may have rebooted and 
re-plugged the USB headset after boot and therefore the USB webcam and USB 
headset got a different order (?)

Hmm....removing the module does not seem to be trivial, even if I do not run 
an X-server, that does not work:

blackbox:~# modprobe -rv snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_realtek 
snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec 
modprobe: FATAL: Module snd_hda_codec_hdmi is in use.
blackbox:~# 

I could try to blacklist (?)
