That part was fine, but ...

I bit of googling suggests that a service can be unmasked using:

    $ sudo systemctl unmask alsa-utils.service

but that has no effect on my machine:

    $ sudo service alsa-utils start
    Failed to start alsa-utils.service: Unit alsa-utils.service is masked.

I also tried force re-installing alsa-utils which didn't help either.
