[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#985666: alsa-utils: no sound after installation

Hi, I tried this with both a debian desktop environment and just the 
standard system utilities with the same result.  If I try to run espeak 
with text when connected over ssh all I get is some static sounds for 
about a second.  What else can I try to see if the sound is working are 
samples provided to test with?  Nick Gawronski
