My preference is to have Debian packages be driven like their own projects, and that more people than just the uploaders can commit. Of course quality is important, and I think we should strive to have packages in perfect condition or others in the group should feel free to step in and improve packages.  I'm not a dd and I didn't form this group so this is just my opinion.

Sure. I can think of some other packages that could be moved here too - for example libntlm, gsasl, gss, shishi. And some other yubico packages.
