Maybe we should just involve the upstream author - László, did you ever
have contact with him?

I also wonder what to make of his comment at
https://github.com/bji/libs3/pull/70 where he wrote "as you can see i
don't really have anything to do with this project any more". But in
fact he committed further patches after that comment...
