Hrm, interesting.
I think there is no universal correct answer here, because whatever you
do, someone will have a reason to complain.
My gut feeling tells me the second option is the better one, which adds
more explanatory text to the mail instead of just spouting some (on the
first glance) nonrelated error text as it is done currently.
