As I discovered: The automatic upgrade script extraction fails hard on 
upstreams upgrade scripts. They are far to complex and have far to many 
branches in them for the simple awk parser to handle.

I see two options:

1) patch upstreams upgrade_XX_database.in to pieces to only include the 
path we need and then let the automagic do its thing

or

2) do the work manually and hope the automagic works on future upgrades.

Both have their unique downsides.
