Hi,

I'm forwarding an email David Anderson posted to the boinc_dev mailing list.
Is anyone interested to write the instructions for Debian/Ubuntu David asked
for? I'll do it if noone else wants to but my Debian/BOINC backlog is pretty
big so I don't know when I'll get round to do it.

Thanks,
Frank

Currently, if a Linux user downloads BOINC from our web site,
they get the Manager and core client,
but not nice stuff like startup-on-boot or running as a separate user;
some of the distro-specific packages do these things.

I'd like to change our download page to say
"if you're running Debian/Fedora/Ubuntu etc.,
follow these directions instead".
I haven't gotten around to it; if anyone gives me
specific instructions for their distro, I'll add the text.
