Tried both suggested solutions, no difference.

I tried both Iceweasel and Konq and while the command

    update-alternatives --config x-www-browser

displays

There are 8 alternatives which provide
`x-www-browser'.

     Selection Alternative
   -----------------------------------------------
             1 /usr/bin/iceape
    + 2 /usr/bin/dillo
   *         3    /usr/bin/iceweasel
             4 /usr/bin/opera
             5 /usr/bin/chimera2
             6 /usr/bin/xlinks2
             7 /usr/bin/konqueror
             8 /usr/bin/kazehakase

Press enter to keep the default[*], or type
selection number:

There is no change in the way that Boinc Manager acts
when it tries to open a web page.

Do I have to pretend I am running Windows and reboot?
