Thanks for testing this. I can also confirm that the latest boinc-client
together with ca-certificates/20080617 works with WCG.

Right, boinc-client's postinst script creates this symbolic link that points

I guess you removed boinc-client back then but did not purge it.
boinc-client's postrm script only purges /var/lib/boinc-client if the user
explicitly wants that.
