I can never remember the dpkg-buildpackage command line, honestly :)
When I've done security uploads where I'm not in the Maintainer field
before, I've just run debsign on the changes files after building.
That being said, a security upload is no different than an upload during
freeze, really - it's mostly about coordination and communication. I
copied the list on the mail to team at s.d.o partly to keep everyone in the
loop and partly as a "this is how I go about it" mail for people who are
new to woking with the security team; it's not meant to be the
definitive on how to work with them, but I'm a simple person, and that
approach has worked so far.
