[Pkg-clamav-devel] On Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS clamd package has different build version than clamscan - clamd socket file is not created

Sort of.  We package clamav for Debian and Ubuntu periodically update their package based on the package in Debian.  They do make some changes.  We have no control over the specifics of how they build the packages.

If you are having a problem in Ubuntu, you should consult an Ubuntu resource for help.

I doubt that the difference you noticed is the source of any problems.
