This is a reasonable suggestion.  However, Java packaging is a bit of a 
"speciality" that seems to need additional (Java-unique) packaging 
knowledge, from what I can gather.  Personally, I'd rather at least get 
SWORD 1.6.0 really really truly definitely into Debian unstable before I 
distract myself with something new to package :)
