If you can convince me it would be worth the work to do that, then I
could make the attempt. How many BibleTime users on Karmic do you
expect would benefit from that (most that I now of have added the PPA to
their setups now already, and so have BT 2.5 available to them right
now). Bear in mind that Ubuntu Lucid will be out in <90 days. Feature
Freeze (the deadline for us to get packages into Lucid without askig for
special exceptions) is just 5 weeks from now! Is it really worthwhile
backporting stuff for Karmic, when a new LTS release is almost here?

Given the choice, I'd prefer to focus more on SWORD 1.6.1 and any issues
that emerge from using that new SWORD library version with BibleTime and
Xiphos, so that what packages we get into Lucid (SWORD 1.6.1 and
BibleTime 2.6, maybe) is really as solid as we can make it. Ubuntu LTS
releases stick around for a *long* time! But I'm open to
suggestions/persuasion concerning why a backport to Karmic would be
appropriate.

Jonathan
