Originally we had plans to get into ubuntu-backports and
debian-backports. Current members didn't find enough time to go thrugh
the whole back ports process...

Most likely not. But you are welcome to join our team and work on
this. We use bzr & launchpad feel free to take our package code,
update/maintain it for backports.
