I don't have much of a console here as this is a laptop without any
serial port, but I've attached a photo of the output at the point where
it stops.

I do notice

 udev cookie created
 udev cookie incremented
 udev cookie incremented
 ...
 udev cookie decremented
 udev cookie waiting for zero

which maybe suggest that there's a refcount mismatch or something like that?
