Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.6.1-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
while I was bitten by #720593 yesterday, my system's boot message
("$DEVICE is not a LUKS device") made me think for a moment that I had
a dying hard disk which put quite an amount of adrenalin in my blood.
I later found out that cryptsetup was "only" complaining about not
finding libgpg-error.so. That error message is sent to /dev/null in
the init script.
Please consider not sending important and helpful error messages to
/dev/null and instead either allow the binary to write them to the
terminal, or capture them to give them to the user at some later time.
Greetings
Marc
