It is a real mystery to me.. the build works fine here. The clean chroot
test is pretty definitive, right?
I guess there must be some difference in packages installed on the
auto-builders, perhaps a missing build-dep. That said.. I can't imagine
what it might be.
I've been through running the tests with both bash and dash as
my /bin/sh, and didn't get anywhere.
I suspect we may need to reproduce this on a system I can actually debug
on. If even a pbuilder chroot works, then that doesn't sound like it
will be easy.
Is it possibly (easy?) to patch the build system up to tarball the
entire build directory, and email / ssh copy it to somewhere we can
disect it after it fails?
Presumably the autobuilder just cleans up after the failed build.
