Hello,

I like to use the program ft232rprog (http://rtr.ca/ft232r/) to set the
parameters in the FTDI line of USB chips (http://www.ftdichip.com/). It
would be convenient if a nice package were included in major distros like
ubuntu. This program is extremely good but very poorly advertised.

I am new to packaging but I managed to make a working .deb file. How might
they be added to Debian, Ubuntu and friends? I attached the .deb file and
related files to a previous message but they took too much space and my
email was rejected from the list.

I asked the program's author (Mark Lord) about what he thought about
packaging. The following is a copy of our email exchange.

Yep, go for it, thanks!

Totally free software, use as you please,
no obligations whatsoever.

Cheers
