Yes, the only thing that is a bit wrong with compiling the sources from 
unstable/testing on oldstable is the missing "Priority" field in the 
control file.

FWIW, I usually have these "backports" at https://deb.simonrichter.eu/ , 
but they go away as soon as they are superseded by official backports, 
so this repository is not a replacement. These packages are built in a 
clean environment, so they should not require anything from newer 
releases, but the oldstable packages are mostly untested (I run stable).
