Yes.  It contains the following:

gpk:bin$ cat /etc/logrotate.d/exim4-base
/var/log/exim4/mainlog /var/log/exim4/rejectlog /var/log/exim4/paniclog {
         daily
         missingok
         rotate 10
         compress
         delaycompress
         notifempty
         create 640 Debian-exim adm
}

That's probably true.   I doubt that I would have purged exim until
I was quite sure that exim4 was working well.   By then I probably
forgot.

So, why is that important?
