Changing username

Hello,

I have been trying to figure out how to change the username that exim
runs as.  I'm assuming this is a reasonably simple thing to do, but for
some reason I cannot find the solution.

The reason we want to do this is complicated, but it boils down to
limitations of our current database schema for handling user data.  We
can only have 8 character, lower case usernames, and 'Debian-exim'
doesn't quite work out.  We would use sendmail, but apparantly part of
sendmail still depends on part of exim (I haven't check that personally,
yet).
