No. We cannot support all possible ways to configure the mail system,
we're satisfied if we cover 95 % of the wishes.

Because that would be a _big_ surprise to experienced people who
expect /etc/aliases to work the way it has always worked.

I would, however, additionally suggest that you copy the
system_aliases router and have your modified router access a file that
is not named /etc/aliases for the same reason.
