Well, partly. Ist this mechanism also implemented in the version in
stable or only in unstable?

And apart from it the logrotatesettings are delaycompress and daily (the
default). With that settings the logfile gets rotated after one day. But
my mail server is receiving mails very frequently (Spams and also some
non-Spams). So IF this mechanism described in the document you referred
is in place the logfile must never be open one day after rotating the
file. So, yes, this ist a bug which still exists in the stable version.

Moreover, it is easy to fix with the lines in the logrotate config to
restart the daemon after rotating. So I do not see why it shouldn't be
fixed this way. (Also the service is not disrupted as the mail protocol
is tolerant for small inavailabilities.)

Ah, sorry, I thought you address a other bug report.

And a delivery time of more than 24h is not expected.
