Well, not really. It tell exim to stop and restart it. This is a normal
action which shouldn't be problematic (and is not problematic in case of
exim).

Well, it helped and do still work fine.

More than 24 hours is not "short lived" in my opinion. But I suspect it
is not the delivery process. But I have to see how to prove this without
loosing logging information.
