Hi Olivier,
I have the same bug on my ubuntu Jackalope system and no such bug appears in their BTS.
I just tried something that might be a solution but this is at most a guess.
I did as root:
------------------------------------------
cd /var/spool/exim4/
mkdir db2
mv db/* db2/
EX4DEBUG="Y" /etc/cron.daily/exim4-base
<lots of lines>
echo $?
0
------------------------------------------
this returned code 123 before.
I have no idea what that database was for, but I assumed that it could be recreated.
Not that I know how. If you know how, let me know. And I can see if this is a
solution -- remove the database and recreate it.
thanks,
kev

I got a reply from Olivier and he said I should report this here. My assumption
is that if the bug is in debian and I used jackalope and got the same error,
then the bug was passed along.
