I don't think this issue occurred again (at least I'm not aware
of it). Nowadays, I still have a machine using exim, which I use
regularly, and there have been no errors at all since April last
year (as shown by /var/log/mail.err*). No issues either shown in
/var/log/exim4/mainlog* (but logs are kept for only 10 days).
