[Pkg-exim4-users] Change the Default Message Size Limit

I have exim4 set up and running on Ubuntu with clam and SpamAssassin.

I need to change the default message size limit.

As I read the documents all I need to do is
Add  MESSAGE_SIZE_LIMIT=<insert value>
To  /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf
and restart exim4

It isn't working . What did I miss?

I have been trying to post this to the list but I don't see it showing 
up. I getting errors saying the server can't be located.
