also since you are running it within ipython -- enable falling into
'pdb' debugger upon error and share some useful information, i.e. do

 pdb

then run your script until it fails, and then share output of

 print priors.shape, isplit, nlabels, training_nsamples, nsamples_per_class

may be that would help to resolve the mystery
