Before we can do this, we need to find a solution how to handle
xorg.conf or an xorg.conf.d/ file (which mainly provides a Driver line
for the proprietary driver) via update-alternatives, so that it can be
enabled/disabled automatically whenever the glx alternative gets changed.

I tried to do this for nvidia, but did not come up with a good solution
so far. Also the Debian-X folks had concerns with putting video config
in xorg.conf.d/

Not to forget all the tools that want to manipulate /etc/X11/xorg.conf
directly ...
