I do have a card to build/test, but I will be far too busy for the
next 5 or 6 days to work on it (and possibly without internet for a
couple days therein).

You don't need to wait for an existing NEW package to clear.  The
ftp-masters will review either both or the latest when they decide
whether to approve.  In any case, only the latest gets approved or
disapproved.
