I experienced this exact same after an update involving
fonts-dejavu-core and iceweasel. I saw the issue in Iceweasel - but
after restarting Iceweasel it worked correctly...
In short: If you saw this in a long-running Iceweasel, Icedove or Iceape
session, please try restart the application and tell if that fixed it.
