[Pkg-fonts-devel] how does a new packaging repo get created?

Thank you for this, I did not realize gbp could do this. I am a bit
confused. Two of the font packaging repos I looked at, had branches of

* master
* upstream
* pristine-tar

which seems to be different from the options you have mentioned here.

How does this command know what repo name to use, such as
fonts-sil-tagmukay? and how is the description set?

If I use gbp to create the remote repo, what is the next step in the
workflow? Do I run

gbp import-dsc package-name-version.dsc

or

gbp import-orig package-name-version.tar.xz

or something else?
