There's no breakage here. There's a new command 'open' in /usr/bin/, handled 
through alternatives in Debian, with xdg-open being one of the alternatives (and 
the default in your system). Because of that, there's also a new manpage in 
section 1 for open, handled by alternatives as well. Thus man will prefer the 
manpage in section 1 to the one in section 2 if you don't specify a section.

There's really no bug here. It's really no different to `man printf` giving you 
the manual for /usr/bin/printf rather than the one for printf().
