What kind of settings? Probably I have to install an optimized font,
other issues?

Ah, OK. So no need for me to set up anything!?

Great.

About the error in the PO file you described in your second mail:

#: hex_puzzzle.cpp:1567
#, c-format
msgid "Complete 1 more level to unlock!"
msgid_plural "Complete %d more levels to unlock!"
msgstr[0] "பூட்டை திறக்க இன்னும் 1 மட்டத்தை முடியுங்கள்!"
msgstr[1] "பூட்டை திறக்க இன்னும் %d மட்டங்களை முடியுங்கள்!"

The number of plural forms depend on the language. English and German
uses 2, Russian 3 and Asian languages 1 if I remember correctly.

Example:
 1 game
 0,2,3,4,... games

You see the grammar ("s" plural suffix!) depends on the number.

Does your string msgstr[1] make sense if you replace %d by all numbers
except 1?

In this case you have two plural forms and the header should be extented
by:

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=n != 1;\n"

This means: There are 2 plural forms, the first one is used for %d==1
the other for all other numbers.

If you are unsure please look at other PO files or explain all forms.

Can you please mention such a font so that I can use it for testing?

Ah, OK. Nevertheless in this case I need to file a bug against Pango so
that it can be fixed ... I have to check it.

Will do so for new strings ...

PS: I forwarded your mails to 441040 at bugs.debian.org so that they will
be archived. I hope this is OK.

PS2: Is it OK to not translate "complete" in the following?

msgid "Continue game %d (%d%% complete)"
msgstr "விளையாட்டை தொடர் %d (%d%% complete)"

Please have a look at the mainmenu.png screenshot! It looks like a
minor error on your side ...

You should probably also translate
# type: SH
#: debian/hex-a-hop.6:39
#, no-wrap
msgid "SEE ALSO"
msgstr "SEE ALSO"

Same for AUTHOR, DESCRIPTION, NAME, ... right?
(Yes, I know, Tamil manpages are currently not supported by man, but the
author works on UTF-8 support.)

Oops, this seems to be wrong. "man" expects a normal dash in this line (as
in English) (po4a will replace it by proper \-). Also hex-a-hop should
not be translated/transliterated as this stands for the command to start
the game (at least here). The same is true for "$HOME/.hex-a-hop/",
that's a filename, translation of it is forbidden :-)

It should be:
hex-a-hop - <your translation of "puzzle game based on hexagonal tiles">

I will add a comment to translators and maybe report a wishlist bug
against po4a to respect it.

Thanks again,
Jens
