OK, but this doesn't help me a lot :-)
Could you first describe what currently is wrong? Maybe you can send a
small screenshot of a properly displayed Tamil string from the PO file?
Do you know how I have to change the pango settings?
It could be
a) a problem with my system configuration. This is not critical as
it will work properly for Tamil users who have proper configs.
b) a problem accessing Pango in the game itself. There are e.g.
functions to specify bidi actions for scripts writing from right to
left. Do I need to call such functions? I don't know.
c) a Pango bug
But you're probably right, I hope it's reason a).
I found https://bugs.launchpad.net/pango/+bug/107067
I think the many dots I see in my screenshots are wrong, right?

Ah, OK.

Probably you have to change this in the kbabel settings dialog. I don't
know it for sure, I'm a vim user :-)

Debian. Currently stable but I hope I can resurrect my Unstable box
soon (locked disk), otherwise I could install it new. Not a big task ...

OK, will try it.

That's good.

Most language teams translate such headers in man pages, see e.g.
http://www.infodrom.org/projects/manpages-de/richtlinien-2.html#s2.1
But please note that only a few European languages were supported by
man during the last decades. I did not even try testing your Tamil man
page, I know for sure it will not work now. But Colin works on it and
the next version will contain proper UTF-8 support.
Probably it's better to discuss this in your language team as it should be
consistently translated in all man pages -- and there are many hundreds.
I doubt that there exist currently many translations to Tamil.
So there is no strict reason to translate it for now if you're unsure.
Thanks for your feedback. I hope you will also test the game (at least
once it reaches Ubuntu), it makes a lot of fun but is nearly too hard
for me.
