May you please explain why you think I'm asserting you're doing a bad
job as maintainer if I ask to remove _someone else_?

Maybe I asked him, do you know?

Is he? For example, the commits I see on
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-games/packages/trunk/wesnoth/?op=log
are done only by you.

Do what you see fit.
Of course, doing so you're recognizing that leaving inactive people in
Maintainer/Uploaders field is not a problem, does not give a false
impression of several people working on a package, and does not give a
false picture of what packages a person is really working on.

Did you see the 'if' (I repeat it here 'if the person is listed as
Maintainer'): is that condition true? No, so what's the problem? are
you just doing polemic or want to do something constructive?
