Making explicit dependencies implicit is generally a bad idea. The
source code explicitly uses SDL.h and checks for it at build time. If
one of the other deps drops its dependency on libsdl1.2-dev then the
package will start failing to build from source. Ubuntu should revert
this patch.

Not sure I understand the purpose of this change.

The other changes I can see in the Ubuntu patch make more sense.
Hopefully next time we update the package, someone will pull them in.
